Vital support is needed for childminders and families
A leading childcare charity has commented on the Emergency Budget..
The National Childminding Association, which represents registered childminders and nannies, has urged the government to use the next spending review to support registered childminders and nannies to remain a high-quality childcare choice.
Liz Bayram and Catherine Farrell, NCMA Joint Chief Executives said:
”This budget will increase financial pressures on parents, registered childminders and nannies at a time when the sustainability of childcare providers is a real issue.
“It is vital that the Government uses the next Spending Review to support registered childminders and nannies to remain a high-quality childcare choice for working families. Childcare plays a vital role in supporting economic recovery, by enabling working parents to continue to work. Nannies and childminders can also help government achieve its goal of supporting lone parent families back into work, once their youngest child reaches school age.” |
